2 x 2 Napoleonics
DBA-inspired miniature rules specifically designed for use with 2mm scale Napoleonic figure blocks, to be played on a 2 foot by 2 foot (2' x 2')table. Players build up units of soldiers by expending Army Points (AP), and typically fight engagements with 40 AP of units aside. The turn sequence is the familiar structure of:
Player 1 moves
Player 1 rallies
Player 2 shoots, cavalry countercharges
Player 1 melees
Then the reverse:
Player 2 moves
Player 2 rallies
Player 1 shoots, cavalry countercharges
Player 2 melees
Each unit represents a regiment and each player controls the equivalent of a corps of soldiers. Ground scale is 1" = 400 paces, or ¼" = 100 paces. Figures should be mounted on 1" x ½" bases, representing about 1200 men. All units move in increments of ¾" or 300 paces.
Combat is resolved by a single die roll, with a long list of possibly applicable modifiers. Results are of the variety of Disrupted, Recoil, or Destroyed.
Six-sided dice and a ruler (marked in ¾" or 300 pace increments) are required to play.
