Gold Rush Mini

Gold Rush Mini is a matchbox game from Japan. The designer has revised their earlier game GOLD RUSH into a little game for two players.

The players take turns drawing a coin secretly from the matchbox. The coins have different values on either side, including a crossbones and dynamite.

The player looks at both sides and places the coin with one side face-up. Both players then bid on the coin using their gold bars. The winner keeps the coin but may not examine the hidden side.

At the end of the game, the coins are all flipped and their real value is totalled. The player with the most value in total is the winner.

This mini edition was produced following the 2nd edition of the main game also being sold out. The designer created a 1 day crowdfund, and the mini edition sold out instantly. Demand was so high, the designer started a second 5 day crowdfund for the 2nd edition of the mini game. These mini editions re-used the original matchbox artwork, so the 1 day edition has a cattle skull on the matchbox, and the 5 day edition has a native American skull.
